I have narrowed my search to a couple different O/U for sporting clays and possible trap. (fun trap shooting, not competitive) This my first O/U and I can't afford much more than 1500. Cabelas has a nice Beretta 686 onyx sporting in the used gun library for 1395. It looks mint.
I was also looking at two different brownings on Davidsons. A browning Citori lightning w/color case for 1250 and a citori whitelightning for about 1600. Browning has some good deals right now for 200 rebate to 4h members and 150 in shells. My child is a 4h member. They both feel great, the Beretta is a little lighter. Suggestions please.

Those are all fantastic guns at what I believe are fairly reasonable prices. Close your eyes & put the guns to your shoulder. Buy the one that is in the right place when you open them.

What he said! Good luck.

A couple others for you to consider:

Browning Cynergy: Funky looks, but natural to point, and a good shooting piece. Additionally, they have one hell of a mail in deal right now. You get a hat, a hard case, a soft (range) case, a range bag, and a check for $100 of your hard earned dollars back.

Winchester Supreme: Produced after Browning bought Winchester at the old FN plant in Belgium, I love this gun. It's got the best of American innovation with the lightweight tricks the Europeans are known for. Damn hard to find new, but there are deals to be had if you can get your hands on a used one.

You can also scour the used market for those exact guns and you should be able to find them for at least a little bit less. Especially if you are looking for a 12 gauge.

Bought the Browning Cynergy Classic field tonight.
Can't wait to shoot it this weekend!!
Thanks for the suggestions!!
