Interstate Trade?

Well, I've tried googling this, without overly much success.

Basically, I have a gun (Sporterized 7.35 Carcano specifically) That a friend in Pennsylvania likes, I'm willing to trade it for a guitar he has. He knows the value and all, and the guitar is about an even trade overall. However the question is, can he come down to CT, or I go up to PA and just exchange them legally, or would it have to go through an FFL?

FTF transfers between residents of different states is illegal. Has to go through a FFL.

That FAQ looks a bit better then last time I tried the ATF's website, I was probably looking in the wrong area though haha. Well, thanks for the info guys, might be a bit more annoying now, but, rather be above board anyways obviously.
