Hi all, new forum member... I've returned to the sport after a 12 year layoff...I used to live in MD and worked near PGC - actually learned how to shoot a shotgun in 1992 at PGC by following a sign that said "Trap leagues now forming" (Won their trap league twice and the skeet league once). Started shooting ATA and bought a beautiful 870 Trap. Had to quit shortly afterwards due to a brutal case of TMJ (trap shooting made unbearable). Sold the 870, MEC, etc. and kept the 1100 I started with, and stopped shooting while my 4 kids grew up a bit.

My oldest son (now 16) and I started shooting trap and skeet in earnest about 2 months ago at Bull Run. I've been stocking up on cheap ammo from a place in VA that had $25 flats of Top Gun and Fed/Estate "Game and Target" loads in 12 and 20ga. Sadly, I just purchased their last 3 flats today and need a new supplier (a lumber yard in N-VA, closing out all of their ammo and I seemed to be the only one who knew they sold ammo or where the pallet was hidden!)

I've been reading a lot of the old posts and fully subscribe to the BA/UU/R theory. We've been burning a flat and a half a week and I'm going to need to find somewhere else to buy - reloading isn't an option at this time.

So, any ideas? I'm over in Harpers Ferry, just having moved back to the area from Pittsburgh most recently.

Great board, BTW! I'm going to see if I can't wean myself from SGW.

Welcome aboard. Thhe best deals I've seen have been the AAs at Bass Pro for $4.49/box and the Remongton Gun Clubs at PGC for just a bit more if you buy a whole case.

Of course there's the Wally World bulk packs for $14.99 for 5 boxes.....

Welcome Ed3, Have you got any Dick's Sporting Goods near your area or a Gander Mountain. The ones near me have the Estates and Rem Gun Clubs for for around $30 a flat. Heck, the store Big R has them also, it's a farm and hardware store, I don't know if you have them on the east coast.

Hope you find a good supplier. :)

Thanks for the replies! I've been to many of the stores mentioned but I've been disappointed in what's actually in stock there. Seems like the buyers only stock the heavy loads. Or, I'm always a day late....

My local Wally does stock Gun Club's for $3.72 and the standard promo's for $2.98. I'm spoiled by my $2.50 stuff.

Regards,

Ed
