Last Friday, I bought one of my favorite .45 ACP guns, which happens to <ahem> fire very, very rapidly. about 1200 rpm rapid. I had previously had a problem with cycling, and fixed it (I Hoped)... That was the 1st gun out of the box on Friday night. When my buddy & I came in, I noticed a 12 or 13 yo boy with his dad shooting. I think this is the height of cool myself, but his night was about to get alot cooler. When I popped off the first magazine in bursts, Chris, the young'n came over to gawk. I noticed him staring and said
"Hey, you want to shoot this?"
Chris: "Uh... Uh... you mean shoot THAT?"
me: "Of course"
Chris: "Dad! Can I ?"
What do you think he said
Cool Dad, cool kid.
So I went over basic safety, then gun specific stuff, and said "enough of this, let's shoot!"
I made him shoot with only 1 round at a time in the magazine, then 2, then 3, and 1 time 4 rounds. He had trouble with muzzle climb, but he got better as he went on. He had a blast, and I did too. He kept them all on the B27 at 7 yards, but he did get a couple 3rd shots right up at the neck. I was happy with Chris's performance. His dad bought me some ammo for it and told me "he'll be talking about this for months!" and thanked me ... They had to leave.
Obviously Chris is already "Into" the shooting sports, hopefully, I helped solidify that
