Hi everyone, I shoot IPSC Production division, and I see the rulebook being more flexible/permisive year after year....
Id like to hear from you about modifications allowed to pistols that may help on the range... but still be legal.

For example, I got...

-Skate griptape on my front/rear straps of my grip
-Ligher DA/SA pull (hammer and sear polishing, spring trimming)
-Aftermarket LPA adjustable sights (not shown in the pic)

To come...

-Aluminum Slim grips
-Some kind of trigger overtravel adjustment (internal and or external ALLOWED???)

To your last item:

6. My pistol has been fitted with an aftermarket trigger stop. Is this allowed?

Models which have factory installed trigger stops are allowed. Otherwise, this modification is not allowed.

Not entirely true. If the triggerstop is internal, then it is allowed.

Silly rule, really.

Note that the OP is in Argentina and presumably competing under IPSC rules, not USPSA.
I quoted direct from www.IPSC.org

I find it hard to justify an internal trigger stop even for USPSA under item 21 on pg 75, but if you can get it in, fine.

Here we compete under IPSC rules...

I was thinking about a mod... A trigger overtravel "adjuster".

Making a Thicker trigger (adding material with a welder, then reshaping it as "factory" looking as posible, refinish and drop into the gun again...

The trigger will be thicker at the pont where it stops against the gun frame... the adjustment would be done with trial and error, grinding it till the desired overtravel is reached...

Legal or ilegal?

I am not your match director but the website does not say anything about how a trigger stop is made, just that an aftermarket trigger stop is not allowed.

I looked at a similar stop made by Bruce Gray for the Sig-Sauer in IDPA and decided against it because it did not meet the rules even though it would not be likely to be noticed on the range.

Internal modifications are allowed right??? well... this is Internal, the looks of the pistol is 99.9% the same...

IPSC Production rule boils down to this: If your particular model was not offered from the factory in a certain configuration of trigger or sight or grips, etc., then the modification is not allowed. If the manuf. offered the gun with certain optional accessories, these are allowed.

In IPSC Production, the usual answer to the "Can I...." modification question is overwhelmingly "NO".

You cannot make up a new trigger for your gun, nor can you modify the existing one.

If there is a trigger with a trigger stop available from the manufacturer of the approved gun, that is advertised as being for that gun, then you can swap them out provided no fitting is required. If you have to cut or grind anything to make it fit then it isn't allowed.

If the manufacturer makes a trigger stop that is not listed as being for the approved model then you can't use it, even if it is a drop in fit. A potential example is the Match Trigger from the HK USP Custom Sport, if it isn't sold as an aftermarket option for the standard USP then it can't be fitted to the standard USP.

Nice looking pistol. What model Tanfoglio is that? I don't see a picture of it on the official Tanfoglio Italy website. http://www.tanfoglio.it/tanfoglio.php?lingua=uk

The link you provided is to another company that likely sells aftermarket accessories rather than Tanfo Italy-made accessories that were listed as being available for your particular handgun during the years it was marketed by Tanfoglio and its dealer network.

In other words, that adj. overtravel trigger is not likely ok. Which is what Radagast is also telling you. I know this is disappointing, but them's the rules. You could always put that trigger in then run your Tanfo in Standard Division rather than Production Div.

Why don't you ask on the IPSC-Global website, they'll give you an exact and correct answer rather than my WAG.

Its a Tanfoglio Combat "T".... Pretty much like the old Combat but a few minor mods such as a lighter slide (rounded top) And new grey tenifer finish...
