If "lying under oath" was a universally punishable crime, then every convicted felon that ever had the temerity to take the stand and profess his innocence would have been additionally so charged. It's not. It's understood that when one testifies to one's own innocence, the jury either will or will not believe you. If the jury decides not to believe you, that doesn't make you guilty of perjury.

FWIW, if I were in his shoes, I would have denied getting that blowjob, too.

(hoping this post sneaks in before Art gets around to closing the heck outa this thread...)

Democratic politicas as usual...

Wrong.

"Lying under oath" is a punishable crime - it's called Criminal Perjury. It is a felony. When a so-called President commits a felony while in office, he has comitted an impeachable offense.

Why wasn't Clinton removed from office? To do so requires a 2/3 majority vote to convict and remove from office in the Senate. At the time, the Senate was split 50-50 (or nearly 50-50) between R's and D's.

The Democrats in the Senate cared more about keeping Clinton in office than they did about the Constitution or the law - no surprises there. Once again, Senate Democrats showed themselves to be totally devoid of integrity and honor - just like their holy one, Clinton.

As far as criminals lying under oath in court - it happens all the time. Judges know it. Why do they get away with it? Because it can't be proved. In Clinton's case, his Criminal Perjury was proved beyond a doubt.

And the fact that he is above the law was proven beyond a doubt. But that's okay, since he is a Democrat.:barf:

The weather cooled down. I actually went out and spent most of the day working on the grader and dumptruck and did other chores. Cut some mesquite and poisoned the stumps. Checked the feeder; no tracks. Frustration. Found the gasket I needed for the Holley on Big Truck.

Watched a bit of the Champ Car race. Watched Sunday Nite Feetsball. Read some.

All while y'all were diddling around with all this OT stuff.

Now it's Monday; time for coffee and Aleve for breakfast, and closing junk threads...

:D, Art
