Do you think at its current state they could beat us in a conventional war?

Conventional? Well who is going where? They invading us or we invading them? Or fighting it out on some third parties ground?
On their own territory they could win and not even arm their forces. We would run out of ammo long before they were all gone.
Problem is, a war with China isn't likely to be conventional for long.
At the moment however they seem to be a bit preoccupied with their nutbag neighbor N. Korea.

Let's say a repeat scenario of the Korean War happens. What about then?

I doubt they have the logistics capability to cross the ocean and invade CA.
In a land war in Asia, I imagine they could fight us to a draw. We have better technology, they have more people and would be fighting close to home. In the end, many would die and neither side would accomplish much, so what would be the point?
