Is gun control a big issue in this years elections?

Thats why I'm voting for incumbents. They have done a good job of shooting down WAceasefire's proposals and keeping WA free. None of the challengers have voiced any support for gun rights (that I've heard) and so I don't trust them.

I don't see many politicians making hay out of gun control issues. A number of those attached to guncontrol organizations have made something out of the recent Amish school shooting, and the meeting Dubya had about school violence which apparantly did not bring up gun control.
Irregardless, I am in agreement the leftists and Democrats (not all demos -- just the lefties) still want to ban guns. If they think the political wind is right, they won't hesitate to fart out a new "assault weapon ban" that will be worse than Clinton's and will NOT grandfather even a spitwad.

The gun control issue for the Democrats this election cycle is simply "Don't ask. Don't tell." You have to really dig for voting records which is about the only way to learn how a candidate votes. Sure glad the NRA is around to sort things out.

The gun control and other issues that illicit very emotional responses are not being discussed. As long as the Democratic powers to be are antigun, I have a hard time voting for any Democrat on a national level (President, Senate, House).

That's sig material right there!!!
Thank you very much. I was hoping someone would notice that. At first I wondered "oh crap, maybe don't they know who the Incredible Hulk is?"

Someone needs to photoshop a hulk comic with someone mocking Bruce banner with the old Cuomo quote that "gun owners can be mistreated because they dont even vote" followed by a hulk with a green wayne lapierre face running amok.

Guns and RKBA is a taboo subject. I do not even think they would seriously legislate against it untill they have a super majority. They have never changed their stance on it. They did **** after the bslaping they have gotten since 94. They still haven't recieved all they should have for that.
The republicans (not all) are keeping quiet about guns also. Niether party believes in RKBA enough to restore the intended scope of regulation.
Partys are both discouraging incumbants and candidates from filling out surveys accesible to the public.

Gun Control may not be a big issue on these, or the 08' Presidential elections, but rest assured, if "they" gain contol of the house, or senate, or the whitehouse a couple years from now, you can bank on bad news not too long after the shift leftward...
