SAMCO has Hirtinberger 8mm mauser ammo made in the 1980s. They said it is boxer primed and non-corrosive. 200 rds for $74.

Does anyone know if it really is non-corrosive? Isn't that price kind of high?

Thanks,
Steve

It SHOULDN'T be corrosive. Any ammo made in the free world after the 1950's should not be corrosive.
37c a round seems a little steep to me, but I am a cheapskate. I'd rather pay 8c a round for corrosive Yugo stuff:

Corrosive ammo really isn't a problem. All you have to do is run a patch wet with Windex down the barrel to neutralize the salts produced by the corrosive primers, wipe the bolt head with Windex, then clean and oil as usual.

Empire has the German stuff, made in the late 30's. I got a few boxes of it. Some of it is tarnished, but most of it came on strippers, and it shoots great.
