Is it just me, or does everyone go through barrel length phases ?

I've always hovered around the 4-6" range, with a preference for 4-5". The smallest I will take is 3.5". I don't like the tradeoffs of a barrel shorter than that.

My first love in handguns was the large bore snubbie. That love has never faded. With a few exceptions, if the barrel is >4", I lose interest.

My taste in pistols is more catholic, but I still tend to like the short ones more.

My first quality handgun was a Model 10 with a six-inch barrel. My taste in barrel length has definitely changed, because this six-inch tube looks awfully long nowadays. I still have it, though.

I'm waiting for Jeff to get over his "Python phase" when he tires of his enviable pile of these beauties and liquidates his collection at fire sale prices.
