Is it legal to carry a blade in California?

I am going to be taking a trip to southern California. Is it legal to carry a pocket knife in California? Thanks.

Perfectly legal. Some of the cities have restrictions on length, but according to California law you can carry a knife. Just remember, if you carry a fixed blade it has to done so openly. If you carry a folding knife you can carry it concealed.

I was planning to bring a 3.5-4" pocket knife if it is legal.
