Is it possible to get an HK P2000 refinished in black to look like new?

I'm acquiring a used HK P2000 that's not bad looking but it does have some scuff marks on the slide. Are there any refinishing services out there that can make it look new? If so, who does the work and how much would it cost? I'm not a big fan of chroming out polymer guns so I really don't want to do the NP3 route (as it will end up chrome looking if I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong). I want it to be clean black like when new. I do however want my barrel to be chromed.

Best thing I can tell you is to just do some checking around. There are a bunch of companies around that offer refinishing services, but finding the one that can make it look close to factory original will be the hard part. Robar does offer other options besides just np3, such as roguard. You could do roguard, combined with np3 internals for 190 according to their website.

Dropped a USP Tactical on the garage floor once. Sent it off to Robar and they returned it looking like new. I will say the finish was a little more bright than the HK finish but I never specified matte. They did an excellent job. WOuld post pic but pistol is long gone.

I've been looking into cerakote after seeing it mentioned in a product description on Bud's. It's a high tech, ceramic (duh) finish. Seems like it might be good stuff, though I think most of the finishes are matte, so may not be an exact match for the original finish.

The manufacturer's website has some smiths who do the coating listed on it.

Note that I'm not endorsing the product; I've only begun looking into it myself.

@ drm14us: I just found out that HK's are covered for the life of the pistol so thats good. Someone over at hkpro said to try grayguns which is what I think I will do in addition to contacting H&K themselves.
