OK. Posted a thread a while ago asking about 239, P2000(sk), XD and M&P. This is for CCW.

Went to gun shop and fondled all of them.

It is now down to the HK P2000 (unsure if I want regular size or SK) or SIG 239.

Also unsure of 9mm vs 40. Think I'm leaning with 9mm just for slight ammo cost advantage.

I was not impressed by the M&P. It felt - I dunno. Very "tinny" and "hollow" compared to the HK and of course, SIG. I held a compact 40 and full size 45. To *me* there is no comparison between the HK and M&P. Of course, there's a huge price difference as well.

The XD. Eh. Dunno. I loved them when I first held them a year ago. Now they just feel/look a bit top heavy and blocky.

Keep in mind I have tiny girl like hands...

A gun I was very impressed with was the Berreta PX4 Storm. Man, wasn't expecting it to feel as solid as it was. Felt great. Too bad the sub compact isn't out right now.

I actually held the HK P2000 first. Felt right instantly. You know the feeling. And that was with the medium back strap. With small it would be even better!

The 239 with hogue grip would feel darn nice too. There are some really nice LNIB used examples on various boards and gunbroker right now.

I'm leaning towards the HK P2000 SK as of now though. It's lighter and as I understand it, I can use the full size mags from the 2000 if I wanted with an X-grip thingie and basically, it becomes a P2000.

I can *just* get my pinky squished while holding the 2000SK. Feels very solid, tight, controllable.

Unless there's some solid feeback for the SIG, I'm leaning to the HK P2000SK pretty heavily. I can get some very nice 239's for $500-$625 though. And they are very nice guns.

I like the Sig & HK in a .40 caliber. in 9mm I prefer a Glock. Different strokes for different folks. Neither is a bad choice but I'd go with a HK in because htey feel better in my hand.

I'd go P2000 -- very nice ergos & very good shooters. Just so you know, I'm not a SIG fan but the few 239's I've shot have been nice ones, but I'd still go HK every single time -- if given a choice ;)

I've bought these brands, I'm extremely impressed with my HK and M&P. I'm not impressed with Sig, I had not so good Sig quality and CS annoyance, including arrogance of Sig 'rep' at sigforum (not to mention the clown followers there).
If your Sig jams or has bad finish, it's your fault, not Sig's!

If I were you, I'd get the HK. I bought one myself, the P2000 LEM in 40.

*Gulp gulp gulp gulp gulp gulp gulp*

Hey, where'd all the Koolaid go? :D

HK p-2000 you will love it! Great choice for us coolaid drinkin HK users.

I like that CDDN has HK 10rd mags with pinky extension for $9.99 each.

I read the P instruction manual from HK. Seems the P2000 will be able to take the 15rd P30 mags when it comes out. Sweet. Will look a bit silly, but during the zombie attack 15rd mags will be helpful. :)

Next is to see how I want to go about carrying it.

Personally, I'd try both and choose the one you like best. Both have very good reputations. No reason to attempt to bash one over the other.

Guitargod1985: That's where I was handling the guns. But it is a bit of a hike. I suppose now that I'll have a gun I'll go there more. I used to go to Reigs gun shop just because it was more convenient.

LMAO!!! I've dealt with Sig customer service at least three or four times. It has yet to cost me a penny, I have no issues with quality in 20 years of owning Sigs. I think you NEED some koolaid.

I do however agree with you regarding Sigforum and the cult like worship of the Sig pim... I mean rep there and it's Napoleonic Moderator.

You don't have to worship at the Sigforum alter to love Sigs.

I own a P239 in .40 and it's a tack driver. I love the thing.

That having been said, I have heard so many wonderful things about the HK P2000SK that I really can't argue against it.

Yep. Ordered the SK this AM. Got an FFL for $30 total and they faxed it right away.

Should have it in 2-3 days. :)

My local shop was ridiculously high even without sales tax.

Getting a 239 is always an option as there are quite a few for sale on gunbroker and message boards.

It is a much more attractive gun than the HK in SAS.

If it helps, I've carried a P239 (.357sig) for years... And I'm itching to replace it with a P2000 in the same caliber.

The Sig is good... better than most. But, the H&K is better.

Good choice!
I have H&K P2000 .40S&W for CCW. I figured 12 rounds of .40 vs 13 rounds of 9mm... ehhh, more power, one less round.

This gun fits in my hand like it was made just for me :)

Yep. I was thinking of 40 also. I plan to shoot it a fair bit so went with the 9mm for cost savings over time.

Just ordered:

P2000SK 9mm DA/SA (no LEM in stock) w/ NS and 3 mags (from police guns dot com)
6 USP Compact/P2000 10rd mags (CDNN)
2 P2000SK mags with flat floor plat (CDNN)
1 13rd USPc mag (CDNN)
[Will have 12 magazines for lead flying goodness! :D]
VM2 in black with extra doo dads to hide stuff better. (LASports)
DeSantis Nemisis Pocket Holster (DeSantis Yahoo store)
Uncle Mikes #12 Ankle Holster (Cheaper than dirt)
4 boxes CCI Blazer 115gr for practice (hope the SK likes it) (CTD)
2 Boxes Gold Dot 124gr (CTD)
Tried to order the X-grip, but HK rep was on vacation. Will fill out order form and hopefully someone will process it.
