Yes dear. Wives just don't understand us.

Honk if you like NVD's

Surplus PVS-4, with a new intensifier tube, got about $800 into it. Second generation, a little shadowy, and she needs a sliver of moonlight, but she'll bust propane jugs at 100 yards in the middle of the night.

Once you get the pic uploaded to photobucket, use the online tools to resize it to 800x600. Then it will be the same size as the other posts.

Oh, and I am drooling over a AN/PVS-14. I got it bad - it will happen sooner rather than later I think.

Thanks, I'll knock them down a bit.

I saw our local SWAT was on display downtown today. I think it's part of the City Festival. Anyway, I was drooling over their weaponry, M-16, 10" Commando, with an ACOG sight, and a swing in/out mounted PVS-14. Not that I'm a big fan of very short barreled .223's, but that PVS-14 was sweet with the swing mount. Use the ACOG in the daylight, swing over the PVS-14 behind the ACOG for night ops.

I want one. Anyone got 4 grand they could spare me?

If you've ever used 3rd generation night vision, you will know where your money went. Expensive, but worth it. I've got a set of PVS-7's with the 3rd gen delta tube, WOW. They need no moon light at all, just like daylight in the pitch black when you can't see your hand in front of your face. I've driven through the woods (at a pretty good clip) under complete canopy on a moonless overcast night, and could see fine. My passenger with the PVS-5's (very good second gen), kept saying it was the wierdest sensation he had ever had.
