Is the "new" Gunsamerica.com better than the old?

It's horrible, and that is being kind. I no longer visit the site, and removed the link from my favorites folder.

Other than having to log on for the larger pics, it works OK. The descriptions do seem more abreviated. I've made some good buys on GA in the past and hope to in the future.

I'm amazed that GunsAmerica spend alot of money for their new Format, and it is MUCH worse than the original website. It is NOT user-friendly at all. Now I usually look at Gunbroker. Whoever GunsAmerica paid for "website redesign" should be strung up by their thumbs.

No comparison -- the new version is so bad I rarely even bother with it.

When I want to find a gun, I go to some other site.
Agreed. Why should I have to register to look at a full-size image of a gun?

And they can't decide if they are an auction site or a listing service. I bought several guns through the "old" GunsAmerica. Now I don't even bother to look at the site. They shot themselves in their collective foot.

I used to sell a ton of guns on there. Sales seem terrible on GA now, probably due to the lack of customers willing to visit the site. I still buy a lot from there . . . fewer shoppers means more good deals.

One of the things the new system was supposed to eliminate, was the fact that guns are sold, but the ads still run for weeks. It ain't workin'.

Fella's;

I used to visit the site a lot. Now, only once in a great while.

Question: Is there a site on the net that's comparable to the old Guns America? I'd go there in a heartbeat.

I went on it yesterday to look for something and promptly gave up. The old site, while not perfect, was much more useful. I doubt I will use it again.

When is Gunsamerica going to wake up and smell the coffee -- they must be losing money on this new format.

I am reminded of a theater in New York. It has a bronze plaque commemorating the architect who designed it, a man named Krapp. It says when the original owners wanted a new theater, "They turned to Krapp."

Apparently, he has branched out into website design.

No kidding. I'd have to check my books from a year ago, but every gun I sold GA made $10 off of. They got several hundred dollars from me. You'd think they would have noticed the drop in income by now.

Just curious- what exactly is it that ya'll don't like about the new site? It seems to work well for me. I've bought and sold quite a few guns since they switched to their new format. It was shaky for a few weeks in January but they seemed to have gotten their acts together since then- I get plenty of offers from legitimate buyers, and it's easy to manage all of my "for sale" listings. I even sent them some questions via email and a really nice and knowledgable customer service person named Michelle called me back and walked me through all of my issues, which turned out to be mostly minor.
the old site was good but things change- especially on the internet. Ya'll gotta learn to quit bellyaching and adapt.
Just me 2 cents...

I'm reasonably content with the "New" gunsamerica. The Selling stuff management is a bit complictaed at first, but like saltpeter51, after an email to the support people at gunsamerica michelle answered wuthin 4 hours and starightened me out. I do hit some slowness occasionaly, but all in all they seem to be most of the way there. damn shmame it took them this long, but I'm quick to forgive

It took some getting used to...but I did. The old site was great, but the new site is cooler and has more gizmos. and they still have hundreds of new lisrings per day, and my wishlist still works. No complaints now.
