Okay, so I'm a sucker for weird guns, especially if they're cheap enough that I don't have to brown bag my lunches to satisfy my curiousity.

I bought a strange looking .22 single shot pistol at a recent show. Sort of a rolling block action, 6" bbl, marked "Rexio"and made in Argentina. NIB it was less than $50. It seemed familiar looking to me, but I couldn't place it.

Its mostly made of stamped sheet steel, and the grips are plastic. Very rudimentary action, but it shoots amazingly well. I managed to put 5 Winchester T-22s into about 3/4" at 25 yds from sandbags, despite the Mattel cap pistol trigger pull.

Though I can't find any articles or documentation, I think that it's a copy of an old Mexican design made by Mendoza, IIRC. The name just came to me when I was cleaning it and wondering where the hell I'd seen its like before.

Anyone out there who can tell me if I'm right on this? It's been at least thirty years, and I may be mistaken about the brand name.

Hmm. The English link on their main page is broken. The Spanish version is pretty self explanatory, though.

I owned one of the .45LC / .410 single-shot pistols. (the .22 the original poster describes is very similar) I wasn't terribly impressed with it and ended up selling it (the only reason I bought it in the first place was because a friend needed money and he was too proud to just take money from me) The oddest thing about it was that I couldn't cock the hammer with it pointed down or even straight forward. I had to tilt it back with the barrell up at about a 45 degree angle before it would let me cock it.
