I have a Stevens/Savage model 15A; one of those single-shot .22s and I was curious if I could use .22 magnums or WMR's in it. I know it can fire .22 shorts and LRs, but it doesn't say anything about WMR capabilities.

So if anyone happens to know, I would greatly appreciate an answer.

That 15-A should be a heck of a good shooter. I sure wouldn't want to ruin it with ammo not made for it. No way you could even get it inside the chamber though as has been pointed out already. Still that is one nice rifle. I have a 15-B and it shoots as well as any rimfire I own. Too bad there's no way to mount a scope on it.

Confusion is because bullit dia. is same for both. That way you can just swap cyl on some rev. 22 mag is inside lubricated, 22 long rifle is outside lubricated.
