Is there a starter kit for reloading?

"it is cheaper than the investment into LEE"

Declaimer - I own several Lee presses, I am NOT a Lee fan-boy, I would love to own a Dillon but I don't have the $$$ for one.

That said, we must be careful to be honest here. The base price for a new Square Deal with Dies is around 350.00. I paid 159 shipped to my house for my LEE pro 100 with carbide dies, case feeder and 12.00 for the addition of the collator to load the case tubes.

That was for a full progressive, yes only three stages but it works well and was half of the square deal in its base form.

I have looked at Dillon's quite a few times but I just cant get over the cost when compared to other presses. I know the Lee does not have the best rep, but I have loaded on one for over a year and they are super cheap on the used market. I bought one recently for 30.00 complete and it is on my bench dedicated to 9mm.

I tend to agree as I bought 2 used Lee Pro 1000 presses complete with bullet feeds tubes as well with 4 die delux sets for 4 different ammos and turrets as well as 4 auto loader, 4 turrets and 4 different Lee Pro Carriers for each one. Other stuff was the Lee brass sizing tools, primer pocket cleaner, Hornady GS-1500 electronic scale, Lee beam scale, Franklin Arsenel Quick-N-EZ tumbler with 15 lbs of walnut, bottle of brass cleaner by Franklin, Lee Reloader Press with the Universal decapping die, all dies as well as 2000 primers by CCI and Remington for LP and 1000 for SP. I also got a Hornady hand primer and the primer tool to convert the a Lee Single stage press to do primers also. To top this off there was about 600 45 colt brass, 500 250 gr RNFP bullets for 45 Colt, 500 RN 224 gr bullets for 9mm, 1 lb Pyrodex, 1 lb Accurate #2, 1 lb BullsEye and assorted other tools such as a couple of bullet removers, brass hammers, wrenches and a collection of current and older books on reloading, etc for $350.

So that was my starter kit which works perfectly once I figure out how it all worked. The only thing I've bought since is the bolt that holds in the decapping pin that I cross treaded after cleaning the dies. I have order some 45 acp bullets and I'm looking at a couple of powders I can get locally. I should pretty well be set as to me this is just a way of feeding my hobby, cowboy action shooting as well as shooting in general.
