Is there a such thing as constant insconsistancy?

I have an in issue with my 223 and some of my 308 reloads. I reload for accuracy and usually obtain a very good load relatively quick but, I have noticed a reocurring trend....2 shot either on top of each other or very close then the 3rd ends up about 1/2" to 3/4" at least...no idea why? It happens more with my Savage stevens 223 than my remington LTR 308. Any ideas guys?

These are on either a warm or cold barrel....yesterday with a pretty warm...not hot barrel...I put 3 shots touching and the cooler barrel shots immediately previous were as described above?

O K...Starting with a clean barrel or a fouled barrel?

Feels like the old TV game show "20 Questions" (Animal, mineral or vegitable)...Ooops. Dating myself...:D

Fire two foulers on a clean barrel, then shoot a group. Which way is the 3rd shot out? Up, Down, Side to side, Diaginal, All of the above? Wind will push a bullet more than most folks realize. Need more info. What yardage etc. etc.

RIGHT, little if any wind at the range...100 yds distance, (tidy whity underwear))....fowlers do not matter....this happens usually clean, midly dirty, or filthy(like I like'em). I don't shoot fowlers as when I go hunting I shoot from a clean barrel and have never seen it make a difference in my guns. The 3rd shot usually goes up and to the right a bit but not consistantly????

Barrel scrubbing against stock where it should not? Free floating or just a little minor relief in the right spot could alleviate this. Still just guessing of course, but that will cause this sort of thing. Since it it usually goes the same direction out that is my guess. If it was all over it could be anything. Tighty whitey is the best accuracy wear IMHO :)

Youbetja. I had a .44 mag Handi barrel that would break your heart. You would fool and fool with it and just when you thought you had that perfect load that it really liked it would throw a flyer, up and to the left. It would consistently do this and none of the other guns I reloaded for would do it. The 44 Deerfield I shot the same bullets in would not do it. Finally got tired of the sucker and sold it to someone that was going to make a 445 SM out of it.
