:) I saw something cool on the SigForum! It's called Karma and I wonder if anyone here does it. Regardless-I'd like to try it here.

Here's how it works-

I have something I know longer need/want. So I post "Karma for a HKS/Rossi speedloader (or whatever I have) People who need it but can't afford it respond. I put there names in a hat and draw them out after 1 week.

Winner gets the item for free!

Anyone here do this?

Yes you can have the speedloader and whatever is in my" miscellaneous" box!

Ah yes. Karma was big on glocktalk and xdtalk. I did a few myself on xdtalk. Good stuff, but I think it should have a different forum here on he high road. Just something about the place that makes me feel that way (for the better)

My dogma chases your karma... :D

Seriously, though, this sounds like a good idea. If you posted it in the appropriate "For Sale" forum (i.e Accessories, etc.), people could respond there as they would to a regular sales thread.

I suppose if the demand grew large enough, we could set up a "Karma" forum, but I think the existing sales forums should be able to handle the load.

Not that this is what you asked, but I have given away several items to members of this board who said they couldn't afford them. One was a brand new rifle scope in the unopened factory box, and another was a fully functional muzzleloading rifle.

After I sent the stuff, I never heard another word from them. No I got the package, no thank you, no nothing.

On the same note, I once mentioned that I would love to have a Marbles knife. I got a private E-Mail from another member of this board who said he had a Marbles knife collection and would like to give me one. I told him that I certainly had the money and didn't need him to give me one. He said he didn't need the money either. So, I took it. I am forever grateful and really enjoy owning it.

I think you have a good idea. I would probably participate if the idea takes off.

well, y'all will think i'm a **** (what else is new) but we do this all the time with the toy guns- that is, with gijoes- constantly have giveaways like this.

i did one where i gave away a couple rare figures for MY birthday.

it's a really fun thing to do, and if you are big on trading/ buying / selling, it's a great way for people to feel extra comfortable trading with you.......

Funny, but have you noticed that you don't really see this too much outside the shooting world? Personally, I've given away a set of Pachmayr grips, a set of Hogue grips, ammo, and a holster or two along the way. Have gotten holsters, grips, a magazine for a Beretta 92, and ammo.

One of the many pleasant things about being a shooter is the quality of the people you meet along the way, who are willing to give you something because you need it, and they have it but don't need it.

444, I would like to personally offer my services to you to restore your faith in mankind. If you send me a new scope or a rifle (or some other trinket), I will thank the living daylights out of you. Do both and I will name my next pet after you.

No No, there's no need to thank me. I'm happy to help.

By the way, does anyone use FreeCycle? (www.freecycle.org) It's kind of the same thing, but for normal stuff.

Well, i will say i think the "karma" thing is pretty cool, and very much in the spirit of THR. Whether or not a 'special' area of the forum should be dedicated to this is up to the owner/mods, but I'll throw my hat in the ring and offer 2 HKS 29 .44 cal speedloaders i got with my Redhawk that i have no use for. If you want 'em, just pm me and i'll send them to you. It will help keep me from 'pack-ratting' so much stuff i dont really need :).

:) Thanks for the interest folks! A lot of "high caliber" people here. Anyone know someone who needs an hks speedloader in .38 for a 6 shot revolver? Also works on Taurus and ? I'll pay shipping.

Won one on the Ruger forum and set up one of my own. I will eventually do one here I guess.
