Is this a 700 CDL or mountain rifle?

+1 Mountain Rifle due to laminated stock and stainless finish.

My next guess was going to be a Mountain Rifle - really it was (I had a 50/ 50 shot and I blew it). I was thinking that the BDL models had the black nose stock and continued onto the CDL and the ADL (which I thought was replaced by the Mountain Rifle) had no dark forend cap - "Awh, Samsonite - I was way off".

It is a mountain rifle. The CDL uses a black forend cap too, but the thinner profile of the barrel and stock are a dead give away. Never seen a CDL with a laminated stock either, although they have made quite a few variations over the years and it is possible. That stock was common on Mt rifles for a while and may still be.

Thanks. This one is a 30-06. Picked it up yesterday. Plan on shooting it this weekend.

I had one, I did not like the recoil. Beautiful rifle though.

I shot it today. The recoil felt less than my M77 06. Buddy had a M7 in 7-08. I shot them back to back and that 7-08 was more than I expected as far as recoil.

I wasn't all that happy with the groups. I'm chalking it up to the fact I haven't put a lot of time behind a rifle off a bench in a while.

Heres 150gr core-lokt about a 2 inch group. 112 yds

Last two groups with 165gr Core-lokt 112 yds. One is an inch and the other around 1.25
