I "let" my wife buy another ring, sticker price $630. I then go to Wally World and she "lets" me get 10 boxes of WWB (100 ct) 9mm. I only had to promise it would last all summer

You should get at least 60 Boxes or another gun for it to be fair. Or maybe 10 boxes and another gun. No way 10 boxes is going to last all summer.

That could be ten 1-box days at the range -- roughly 2 months' worth of once a week, practice only/no play trips to the range.
It could also be one two-day class, plus one follow-up afternoon which includes some play.
Or it could be one really cool weekend with a couple buddies.

But then a happily married man won't entertain such silly notions in his head except on some internet forum. Or lets say one that wants to remain married. Alas I too make such concessions with the wife.
Oh and the real bummer...when I sell a rifle she wants half the proceeds!
