Hi all. Ive been contemplating getting another handgun in 9mm. I had one before but I got rid of it in a trade and have been wanting one since. I was looking at the taurus pt92/99 series and thought they would be nice. I had a chance to handle one in the store and it felt pretty good to me. For those of you who have one how is there anything to be aware of? Ive heard mostly good things about them. They were asking 445 for a stainless 17rd pt99. Is that a good deal?

Having in the past owned a couple of them , as well as a couple of berettas i would personally go with a used beretta . The Tauri i ownd ( granted some years ago , and QC has changed on the entire line since then ) simply were not as robust as the beretta they " copied " . I did like the 1911 style safety tho lol .

That is a pretty good deal, I just had one priced at 450 otd. I have owned pt92 and pt99 before, they are fine , accuracy has been good, fun and comfortable to shoot. so, you like it,, go for it!
be safe, have fun

I understand but you are taking big step backward choosing a Taurus over the real thing.

I had no issues at all with my Taurus revolver (4" 7 shot .357). It had over 1300 rounds through it when I traded for a 1911.

I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy another Taurus if I was in the market for a new pistol.

I owned a Taurus 92 series years ago and it was a pretty good gun. I prefer the fit and finish of the actual Beretta more, but the Taurus will save you money if you are looking for stainless.
