My dad's looking at trading for a walther P99. I don't know what model or anything else, other than it's a .40S&W with 4 or 5 mags, shoulder holster, and supposedly hasn't had very many rounds put through it. Some of the mags are suppose to be hi-cap (I don't know how many a hi-cap .40 walther holds). The guy wants $500 for it. My dad was originally looking to get a glock 17, but he'd settle for pretty much any reliable polymer auto in 9mm or bigger. So, is this a good deal for $500, and if so, is the P99 an acceptable alternative to a glock?

not a bad deal. not great, but not bad. with the extra mags and the holster its ok.

the p99 isnt really comparable to the glock. just different. i would take the walther only because i dont care for glocks personally. glocks, in this case, might be more "reliable" but walthers are no slouch. just ask james bond! :)
