Howdy,
I'm new to the reloading craft, but have been reading quite a bit about it for the last few months. I finally saved up enough money and bought a Lee Classic Turret press with all the trimmings; just got everything set up last night. Got the dies and powder measure roughed in, and made about 5 .38 Special test rounds in the process. I put 4 grains of Titegroup under a 125 grain Winchester JHP bullet, at an OAL of ~ 1.440 with a light factory crimp. Used Winchester small pistol primers donated from a buddy.
I couldn't find any solid data for Titegroup on a 125 JHP except for the Hornady XTP, which Hodgdon lists at 4.3 - 4.6 @ 1.455. I know the XTP bullets are different than other JHP's so I'm wondering if my load is a good one or not. If I decide to shoot them, it will be out of a .357 Mag SP101 just in case
If anyone has some info they can share, it would be most appreciated.
PS - Reloading is fun!
