WenD,

I'm glad the shop refunded your money, is that the end of it now? Or, do you think it should still be pushed forward with at least the BBB. Just because he was caught and had to refund your money, doesn't mean that he will not sell this Glock as new tomorrow to someone else.
To everyone else on The High Road, you are what makes this great. In most of the posts you can see great help being provided, this time the help had a significant impact, in dollars.

wenD sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience especially when it is your first gun purchase. i had a problem with a gun shop on my first FFL firearm purchase and that 2 years ago and haven't stepped foot in the store since and did not feel bad for the owner when i heard they were robbed a couple weeks ago. what does worry me is where those guns will end up but a theif getting robbed doesn't really hurt my feelings.

i hope you find a reputible gun shop in your area because it makes things much easier. and just to add a little fuel to the fire, get yourself a Sig ;) you'l' be much happeir with it than a glock :neener:

also what was the shop owners response when you informed him that you know were aware that the gun was over 10 years old??

WhoKnows, Thanks for the tip...will check it out..

Trey, I don't tend to be the type to let things like thig go w/out a fight...and I am in publicity, which means my job is getting media attention....but I'm not sure how far I'll take it. First thing will be to call Gloack and find out about the history of this gun. And yes, thehighroad was an amazing resource.

Black, a sig?! I don't think so :) but thanks for the idea!

WenD,

Good for you for getting a full refund. :)

Find a local FFL that is willing to provide references. Most FFLs are honest folks but there are a few bad apples that spoil the bunch. :cuss:

You might think about ordering from www.ordnanceoutsellers.com Their prices are great and they're service can't be beat.

If you're interested in a LNIB P229Rail with night sights send me an email. ;)

Purchased my gun from topglock a few days ago and am having a local guy w/ an FFL receive it for me! Yay!

And for the record...it was the Castro Valley Gun Shop.

Cool, I see you went with TopGlock. Did you get anything else with it? Any mags, holsters, carriers, nite sites? If you buy from them, they will install stuff like nite sites or if you want an extended slide stop (highly recommended, IMO), etc... They install it for free and then ship the gun to your FFL.

Thanks, guys.

No, I didn't get it all fixed up...I'll just be happy to have something that's new, mine, and that works properly....

I'm sure I'll get crazier in the future, but for now, just something basic...

Best Wishes! WenD

I'm happy to see things come out ok for you. Enjoy you're new Glock. I hope it's everything you expect it to be. Most of the goodies available for these guns are easily installed. About the only mod I've made to my Glocks (all but 2 have this - mainly because I haven't gotten around to it) is Meprolight night sights and that's only b/c the factory sight drive be bananas on the range. I don't know why. Aside from that mine are all stock and they are my favorite guns.

Wen,

Did you at least get the nite site option? You can install them yourself but alignment of the rear site is much easier to do if you have the little winding/pushing thingy. The front site, you just need a 3/32 nut driver.

No, I didn't get anything....! Hopefully that wasn't a terrible mistake...Just a full size .40, simple

Going to fire several thousand rounds and then, when I can afford another one, buy a Kimber....(or perhaps take a stab at rifles??)...

Who knows, will just be happy to get it...

You did alright, don't worry about it. As I said, the beauty of these guns is that there is very little to putting the goodies on. Night sights can be added later, if you decide you need them as can just about anything else. Very little in the way of parts changes with this gun takes more than 15 minutes. You chose well.
