Is this really worth $2500?!

It is a little steep for my blood, but I would sure love to own it. An unfired M13... My favorite P7 version!

There weren't a lot of them made ... they were pretty doggone expensive when new ... They don't make any of the P7 line anymore.

Yes its worth $2500

Shooter grade P7M8's go for $700, the M13 is even more...and in unfired condition, $2500 is probably not out of the question. I definately wouldn't pay it though.

The P7 has always seemed cool to me, but I've never been able to justify buying one.

I wouldn't pay $2200 but I bet somebody will. The P-7 series squeeze cockers are one of the best shooting handguns I've owned. Scary accurate, good trigger, easy to conceal. I wish HK still made them, even if I do suck and they hate me.

Very accurate and well loved by shooters . . . but they get hot as hell around the trigger area in a few rounds due to the location of where the trigger is in relation to the chamber.

Then again, folks rarely need more rounds that it holds in any fight! I like it, but I'd want a "shooter" grade I could enjoy. No safe queens for me . . . I can't imagine buying a gun, made to shoot, and then not use it for the purpose it was built just so someone else could do the same decades from now.

To each his own though. True safe queens are valuable over time.

considering used PSP's go for 800, that price for a rarer unfired M13 would be in line.....but then I also don't have a problem with shotguns that cost 3-10,000 and more or custom rifles that run 3,000......guess it is all relative

Okay, now I remember shooting 2 boxes through one of those many years ago. Extremely well made gun, but not my cup of tea at all. "Ouch, ouch, ouch, mumble, mumble, mumble..."

For that kind of money I'd buy a Sig X-5 with the adjustable trigger. For $1350 I'd buy what I bought - an X-5 Tactical with night sights, a threaded barrel (because, just because it was there) and a perfect 4.5# SAO trigger. And a nice test target shot at 25 meters. 4 of the 5 shots were in a little line measuring 7/8ths of an inch long. The other one was almost a half inch off to one side.

I picked up a used P7 PSP (German Police trade in) in rather nice condition for $599 (w/ two mags), and Top Gun Supply has/had them for even less.

they are german police trade-ins!

Then they are not the P7M8s that John Wayne was referring to for 700 apiece.

If it is a German Police trade in, then it is a PSP and worth between 600 and 700.

M8s go for about a 1000 as a starting price though I know of someone here locally who FTFed one for 800.

Gander where I live has several for that price or less

That is the answer as to why they are so high then.

Ok, I may have been mistaken on the model. But if it's a shooter grade you're looking for, you're probably not overly concerned whether it's an PSP or an M8.
