Is this rifle considered to be collectable ?

Collectible or not, the mil-grade steel used in the barrels, receivers, bolt carriers and bolts of imported AKMs is much more durable than some of the components used in typical AKMs >> produced in the US by Century<<. Produced by - not imported by them.

That's a heck of a deal, and also would have been back in 2018, 2019.

Jasper McGee: Info at AKfiles indicated that the Egyptian AKM production was * supervised by Russian technicians.

Wrap paracord or such around the butt for softer shooting ?
If you are near a city you could probably sell it and have the cash to buy a Maadi with the normal rear receiver designed for wooden furniture. My MAK 90 has the cleaning rod hole/shaft, but had bayo lugs ground down.

BCR#1: my ARM has No hole for a cleaning rod, nor lugs for a bayo.
This was required by various ignorant politicians for AKMs during certain time periods.

My initial thought when I saw the thread title was YES. Before I even saw what gun it was. No matter how obscure your interest, there will always be others interested in the same thing. Whether or not it will go up in value, I have no idea. The experts can weigh in on that.

CapnMac

There was also an Hungarian underfolder, imported by Kassnar Arms: the SA85M.

Any of the foreign made Kalashnikov variants will go up in value…because there won’t be any more. Those days are gone.
The Hungarian under folder pictured was only brought in a small batch, like a thousand total. I bought one back then for $375. At that price, it came with three 30rd mags, a serial numbered bayonet, cleaning kit, sling, and proof documents from the Hungarian proof house. I sold it for $900 five years later. Now? Close to $2000, I’d guess.
It’s still possible to find a Russian Saiga or VEPR variant for semi reasonable prices if you’re lucky…I think those Russian guns will really go up, as they already have from when you could pick up a Saiga NIB for $239 just a few years ago.
A Maadi as pictured by the OP, would sell pretty fast for a good money in the AKfiles marketplace.

Hey for $500 you did very well. Keep it and enjoy it. If you add it to your collection then I would say it is collectable for you. It will most likely increase in value so your investment is well worth it.
