Rifle: CZ 452 Varmint (.17hmr)
Scope: Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5-20X50
Rings: BKL 257 Matte Finish
Accessories: Brooks Trigger Kit

Put this altogether and I think I will have an excellent small game/varmint rifle. What do you think? If you have any suggestions and/or comments, let me know. Will the scope have enough clearance on the gun with the rings I chose? Thanks.

It will be chambered in .17hmr. I will make an edit to the post. Anyways, the BKL 257 rings are on www.cz452.com. They are .66 inches from the top of the receiver to the ring bottom. Also, I will be using it for daylight hunitng, but what is wrong with a 50mm for daylight hunting? I am just assuming that a bigger objective lens is better. If not, please explain. Thanks.

Not necessarily better resolution but in general - all other variables being equal - a 50mm objective has better light gathering ability than say a 40mm which is why the dawn and dusk guys generally go for the larger objcetives in their hunting/shooting optics.
