I was at the LGS today (one I don't visit often, but its close to work) starting to price out the Savage Axis LH .30-06 I want. They had a few RH Axis rifles in stock, complete with scope, mounts and rings for $329.99. That's a good price, even though I would eventually replace the scope. No left handed rifles. Of course they can order one, and they have an order going in early next week. Price, $319.99, for the bare rifle. No cheap scope, no mounts, no rings.
I was a little put off by the fact that they are selling a scoped RH rifle for only $10 more than a bare LH rifle. MSRP on both rifles is the same on the Savage website.
Is it typical for a LGS to up sell a LH rifle that they can get just as easily as a RH rifle?
