Does the 10-rd mag limit apply only to mags for semi autos? The Ishi Enfield holds 12. Does that make the Ishi Enfield illegal there?

Quiet is correct, all magazines over 10 rds are illegal to bring into the state, nor may you manufacture, sell, buy, or lend them. Now that I'm outta that POS state, I have lots of 30 and 40 rdrs for my rifles and standard cap for my pistols, plus some super hi caps for my Glocks.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

10 round limit effects all firearms, except tube fed .22 caliber rimfire rifles.

Going off-topic a bit, but the 10-round limit also does not apply to tube-fed lever-action rifles (rimfire or centerfire). You can legally buy an Uberti 1873 rifle with a 14-round tube in California, for example

Also, I believe all tube-fed rimfires are exempt, not just .22s. But I'm not 100% certain on that.

To the original question: the 12-round Ishapore Enfield magazines would be illegal to bring into California. I believe some outfit was making 10-rounders for the Ishapore rifle (don't know if they're modifying 12-rounders or making 10-rounders from scratch). Unfortunately, I don't recall who was making them.

I believe over 10 round mags are OK if a person had them before the California ban. If a person were living in Cali before the ban, it's entirely possible that he obtained some 12-rounders before the ban was imposed - those mags would be grandfathered. (Even if he didn't have the rifle at the time.)

When AIM Ships the rifles to Cali, they include a new 10 round mag, since hi-caps can no longer legally be brought into that state.
