you buy something like that because you want to train on what you carry, and this is probably cheaper than a .22 conversion for a glock

2010's Complete Autopistols annual magazine has an article on this. Mentioned it has a Walther match barrel. And it's made in Austria too, just like it's twin. As for reliability, let us know....

Reviews of it from other forums, indicate that it's reliability is less than that of the SIG Mosquito and Walther P22.
What I've read on this pistol since posting is that it designed by the Walther engineer(sry, to early to go searching for names) who designed the P22. Outwardly it does carry the Glock ergos but internally it more closely resembles the P22(don't know if that good or bad ) and is hammer fired.
Reports are that it is one of the more accurate .22lr "training" pistols and like most of them prefers quality HV ammo.
At $235, even though I'm not ready or planning to get a .22 now, seems like something I should scrape up some cash for and get while I can...

Well that sort of defeats the purpose of having a trainer for your centerfire BLOCK pistol. Now, if you have a wheelgun with a similar manual of arms to the Ruger single six (A fine gun, of course) then that's a great plan!
OP, if you like the ergonomics of Glock, go for it, but that's the only appeal I'm seeing to the thing.
My range-toy pistol checklist:
How much is it?
Are the magazines cheap and readily available?
Will it eat cheap ammo?
Can I get an improvement with better ammo?
Does it match a centerfire gun I feel a need to train with?
How many rounds until it pays for itself (and some magazines) in ammo savings?
I do want it as a "trainer" or more to the point a "cheap practice shooter"
I did go to the shop and handle the gun, its very close in feel to a Glock19....but my Glock is a 30 These M22s also have decent trigger, which surprised me.
I'm really not sure why I haven't pushed the button and gotten one yet ..?

Back to considering purchasing one of these....
I've sold my P22 it was too small and the loose barrel issue bugged me.
The shop in the OP still has plenty, I'd just like to hear from some current owners or people that have experience with these M22s .

My question would be, since it's basically a P22 in a Glock suit, is it SA/DA like the P22 or have they made it DAO somehow?
But the lack of the Glock trigger safety and the presence of the frame safety would seem to rule this out as a trainer. You just can't get the same manual of arms from it.

Lemmy, the M22 is SAO and true that it was designed by a Walther engineer its internals are not a P22 clone.
The gun does not have to be and exact Glock copy.....I'm not that serious about "training" with it. If I want to handle and shoot my G30 better then I'll use my G30.
I mostly want an inexpensive, decent, reliable and accurate .22 that isn't made out of pot-metal(cough**P22 & Mosquito)
So what say you on the ISSC M22?

Funny I saw this thread (and I'm a newbie here too).
I am also picking this one up this week.
I don't subscribe to the "it has to be like my current carry whatever" philosophy.
It's a plinker, rather inexpensive and seems to be VERY well made. Look at the thickness of that barrel!
I also have a 12 year old son who I will be taking to the range with me soon (and my mother will have her permit soon) so this will have plenty of use on the range.
After handling it yesterday, I wish I brought some greenbacks with me to pick it up and hit the range.
I'm hoping to do that today!

Sorry, it is FALSE. I know _personally_ the man, who designed the ISSC M22, he is German also, but not the same guy with the P22 designer.

I saw a couple of them at a local gunshop a few days ago. At first glance I thought they were Glock 19s but after seeing the barrel, then maybe they were .22 conversions on a Glock frame. At any rate, after closer examination of the gun, it seemed to be fairly well designed and constructed. I thought for the money it should be pretty decent little plinker. If I were in the market for something like that (plinker/Glock trainer), I would take a chance on one at that price.
Well, Mike..... had to give you an update.
Was about to "pull the trigger" yesterday..... but, came across a used (in EXTREMELY good condition) Walther P22 for only 40 bucks more with an extra Walther mag...... soooo.......... I went with that.
It's the version with the nice nickel slide and all - the higher end version. Given the price/quality point, I woulda been insane to get the M22.
I still am curious though.......
So, my boy (12 year old) and I will be plinking away for sure this weekend. After spending nearly 20 bucks a box of 50 for my .40 cal, it's almost "giggly silly" when I buy a box of 100, 22LR for 7 bucks!!!
