I've done a lot of business with MidwayUSA, and have been well-satisfied with their pricing and how fast they ship packages. Generally speaking, they are my online go-to source for all things gun-related. There website might be a little slow at times, and products frequently go in and out of stock, but that is to be expected with a site that has as much volume as they do.

I also highly respect them for their informational videos they post on youtube. No, Larry Potterfield isn't giving a 45 minute demonstration on how to do a trigger job, but they are neat to watch, informative, and free.

My issue is this:

Despite recieving promotional emails from them about products on clearance, weekly specials, and the like, I always seem to miss out on a Midway coupon. I can't tell you how many times I've placed an order with Midway only to find out that there was a $10 or 15% off coupon out there for anyone to use if they searched hard enough. Occasionally though, I do get emails from Midway with a promotional code.

Maybe it's not intentional, but I feel like I'm excluded from the promo codes when as a loyal customer they should be making sure I had access to them (I buy something just about every time a promo comes around). Has anyone else had this issue?

Yes, I placed an order last night and couldn't find a promo code in the multiple emails from this week.

I googled "midway promotion code" and went to www.retailmenot.com and found a code there.

It would be nice if non-expired codes were included in each email, but I suppose there are marketing reasons why this is not done.

This is the most recent one I've found:

My spam filter catches all the Midway emails--but the only ones there are advertisements, not coupons.

Most of the time, when I get a coupon from them, it's a few days before expiration. Looking at the dates the coupons are valid shows that they've been around for close to a month. Guess they're hoping I'll shop there without using the coupon, then emailing me at the last minute to sway me into an impulse buy.

like others mentioned; when ever I purchase anything online and see a coupon code space provided I always do a google search for "_______ coupon /promo codes" and usually save a substantial amount by doing so.

I hate how they sometimes make you split orders if you want to use your codes though. For instance, I recently ordered 4 items from midway, 2 of which were on sale. If any of your items are on sale, the codes wont work. So I split it, put the on sale items in one order, and the regular priced items in the other. I had to pay shipping twice, but after all was said and done, I paid 3 dollars less than if I had left it all in one order and not used the code. I considered calling midway afterward to see if they would ship it together and refund shipping for one of them, but never got around to it.

Another complaint I have with them is I have received used products twice from them. One was an electronic scale that had been opened, and had some minor scuffs on it, no big deal , it worked perfectly so I let it be.
The other was a set of Hornady dies, had a bur on the threads where it had obviously been dropped, and it had gunpowder stuck in the threads and inside it making it impossible to adjust or even screw into my press. I cleaned it all up and removed the bur with a dremel, so now it works great, but it was still annoying to say the least. Probably should have complained, but whatever.

when ever you are ordering from a big store on line and you get to the check out section that has the coupon place, usually you just open a new window and google coupons for that store and you will find a discount code somewhere on the internet....

Or just get a C&R FFL and send a copy to Midway.

The coupon codes won't work, but the dealer prices will save you more (works at Brownells and I'm told other places too).

Not to pour salt on your wounds but I went to the mailbox last week and there was a gift certificate from MidwayUSA in the mail. Seems they felt they were a little slow shipping something to me, (I hadn't noticed the delay) and wanted to give me $25.00 to make up for the slow shipping.
Naturally I had to log on and spend $100.00+ because I just couldn't find anything for $25.00 I needed.

Getting off topic, but

considered it but it gives the atf WAY to much power over you.

I initially considered that aspect, but after thinking about it I don't see how it gives them any more power over me than they already have.

I keep a bound book. It's completely empty since I've never bought a firearm with the C&R, but it is there in case they ever do call and want to see it.

What am I missing?

What am I missing?

I believe the illegal search and seizure prohibitions no longer apply. I could be wrong, but that's what I have come to understand. I do know that even the laws the atf are bound to still get broken on a regular basis.

All these stories scare the hell out of me. Mostly because they are true;

I want the BATF as far away from me as possible. If it means paying a bit more for stuff, so be it.
Read "UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES" by John Ross. Excellent read.
