It can't be called a shotgun wedding...

Very cool. We would have done something like that, but some blissninnys were there and it was at a church.
There are advantages to doing things like this on one's own property. Like no one else being able to tell us we couldn't have guns. :)

There were a number of people present at the wedding who are either anti-gun or are simply uncomfortable around guns (my mother, for instance). Out of consideration for them, we did the gun pic immediately after the ceremony, while people were still milling about down by where the ceremony had been. With the house between us and them, most of them never knew what happened.

Mike in VA,
Being rennies, we also had a two-rapier arch to walk through during the recessional. No 21-gun-salute, though. Would have given my poor mother a heart attack.

Juggler,
We didn't do the garter ceremony, for various OT reasons. If I'd thought about the thigh holster, though...dang. We should have done that.

I attended a wedding late last year where I know that many of the guests were packing (incl. me, and a friend/client who owns a range and his family). Same as Geek, though - no one showed, since there'd have been an awfully lot of sheep **** to clean up. Instead, all of us who were carrying just exchanged knowing glances. The downside is that none of us were enjoying adult beverages, but it was well worth the sacrifice (plus its often a real hoot to see someone who's loaded - booze loaded, not packing loaded - making a 'hole of themselves).
