anyone remember when these came out in the early 1970's.they were a big improvement over the old victor hard plastic deeks. I worked at a hunting camp that took business customers duck hunting and the owner furnished new italian decoys! to the guides, it as a big deal then.

now we have the greenhead gear, higdon, flocked head mallards etc fine really lifelike looking decoys. but most are made in China!! and mojo decoys!!

i don't know if they were really made in Italy but that is what they were called down here in South Louisiana.

Anyone remember this duck hunting trivia from back in the day??

Biggest difference in all of this is we had way more ducks then compared to now!!

The Italian ones I have/had are Carry-lites or something like that. They look good but the filler must be made of something that contains vegetable matter because rats chewed holes in them to get at the insides. I stored them in the barn and the next year they were toast. The rats didn't bother the Flambeau or Victor decoys.

Except for ringnecks and teal, not many ducks come down to me anymore. They are all in the northern states most of the winter.

don't feel like the lone ranger, all we get around SE LA in the Houma area are ringnecks and teal also. there are a scattering of other species but not like in the good ole days. a greenhead is dam near like a unicorn around here. there are a few mallards, pintails, gadwall, very few wigeons, shovelers, scaup, redheads, and a few cans at the river mouths deltas.

nothing stays the same, if it werent for teal and ringnecks i would kill very few ducks!!
