Hello out there, I am wondering if anyone out there could help me with some info on an Ithaca 1911. I have a friend who has asked me if I could find any info about an Ithaca 1911. The only info I have is what they thought was a serial number of n??96089. I don't know if this is a serial number or some other number on it. I also don't know if the two question marks are their way of not sending me a full number (as seen in most gun magazine letter to the editors) or if the numbers are illegible due to wear or bad eyesight on their part. I don't know the condition of said Ithaca. I am just wondering if anyone out there could tell me anything about the value, history, reputation, etc of these guns. I have found little online searching g on my own other than I believe they have some sort of trigger variation compared to many other manufacturers 1911's. Any info would be greatly appreciated. THR has always been quite a help in the past and if anyone knows, I'm sure it would be some of my fellow members here. Thank you for your time and thoughts!

So far as I know, Ithaca 1911s were only made during WWII. If it is in original configuration and in decent shape it is a valuable pistol.
