I friend of mine calls me today. His mother died recently and he's having to do all the estate stuff. In his mother's stuff is an Ithaca 1911 bring back. His dad was in the Air Corp during WWII. I'm not a 1911 guy but I tell him I'll look it over. It's in pretty good shape for its age. Minor holster wear and just a couple of very small marks. Inside it looks like it's hardly been fired. Slide to frame is tight. Frame rails still have most of the finish on them. The barrel is lightly pitted over a good portion (60%). I ran a patch with some JB paste down it but it didn't improve.

What's a good price range for this? He's making noises like he wants me to sell it for him.

Thanks
Steve

I've seen Ithacas in decent shape go for close to a thousand bucks on Auction Arms. Of course, the little details make a big difference...
