It looks like the same as a xtp on hornadys site, just designed without the expansion. data for a 185gr xtp should work. What manual do you have? What powder do you plan on using?

I have hornady 7th edition, only one listed is sr 4756. I'd use the data for the 185 gr. xtp. The Hap is modeled after the xtp minus the exposed lead and the cuts for expansion, It's more of a match bullet. Should be the same basic thing, as long as the weight is the same.

Should i invest in older hornady books? I will load about 5 rounds that way and post results. so sub this channel

Not necessary.

Use the 185 grain Hornady XTP data you have.

It will be fine.

Lyman #49 lists data for the 185 XTP as follows.
Unique - 4.8 Start - 7.8 MAX.
Power Pistol - 7.4 Start - 8.3 MAX.

Hodgdon lists 185 Hornady with SR-4756
7.4 Start - 8.2 MAX.

HAP stands for "Hornady Action Pistol" meant for action pistol matches like USPSA/IDPA and while the bullet is hollow point the nose profile is shaped for more reliable feeding and chambering in often tighter chamber match barrels.

As others suggested, I would reference the load data for Hornady XTP HP bullets as they would be seated to comparable seating depth.

This is from Hornady website - http://www.hornady.com/store/HAP-Hornady-Action-Pistol/
Modeled after the legendary XTP bullet design, HAP (Hornady Action Pistol) bullets are further refined into the perfect competition projectile. While XTP bullets use folds and a cannelure to aid in controlled expansion and terminal performance, we have eliminated these from HAP bullets leaving only a sleek and balanced projectile with a protected nose that aids in consistent and reliable feeding in autos.

BUILT FOR COMPETITION

Expansion isn’t an issue in action pistol shooting, so we removed the expansion-aiding features like the skives and cannelure. The result is a bullet that delivers the accuracy its sleek appearance promises.

is it just me or is the case mouth rolled down on the right side of that round?

maybe it's lighting or something but it looks out of kilter...:scrutiny:

185 Nosler HP

I have shot a bunch of 45ACPs with Nosler bulk bullets loaded with 9 grains of Power Pistol. It is a snappy load but not excessivly so.I use Federal OF brass and Winchester LP primers. They are almost identical in appearance to the picture. They are reasonably accurate if I do my part.
