PJR - You and I think alike, although I'd really like to check out some of the English makers. Spain is just more of a financial likelihood.

Dave - For the past month or so, I've been kicking around the idea of shooting a three-gun competition using my Browning O/U. My reloads are very quick. If I can find something in the fall, after the clays season winds down, it might be fun.

Me too. I've pressed my nose against the showcases at H&H, Churchill, Purdey, William Evans and Boss. Even had the chance to shoot a 28 gauge H&H Royal that cost more than the house I was living in at the time.

Used English 28 gauges are rare and more expensive. The Brits usually considered the subgauges for small children and women and not many were made.

The Basques make the subgauges at comparatively reasonable prices. I only wish that when I was there a few years ago I'd ordered a 28 along with my 12 but that may be an excuse to go back. Northern Spain is a great part of the world.

As far as not seeing "gadget collectors" on the range, I must live in "BizzaroWorld" because many of the shooters in my trap league are famous for going through a host of gadgets/gimmicks in an effort to chase down that last clay. I've come to understand that one man's gadget is another man's indispensable tool.
If you were to look in my attic you would see that my wife collects junk and I collect mementos. :)
