It's the morning of August 28, 2005 again and you're in the middle of New Orleans...

The streets are flooded, there are looters all over the place, the cops are too busy looting Walmart and shooting people for being black to help you, and you really want to get out of this madhouse alive. Keep in mind that you may need to become a looter too if your food and water runs out. Pick your weapons. You are allowed two guns and you are allowed to use models introduced after 2005.

Naturally this is a complicated problem and the best solution may vary slightly with your survival strategy. Consider the weight, reliability, concealability, the intimidation factor and whatever else you feel is a necessity.

While this is outside the exercise, I'd rather have a satellite telephone and a swamp boat with 60gal of fuel than any firearm. I'd pack family, some food/water, and heirlooms on the boat and leave the rest to insurance/rebuilding.

Then I'd call my nearest relatives and say, "Hey! I'm headed your way. Can you pick me up?"

Limiting it to firearms I'd chose a Glock 23 and Mossberg 590 Mariner.

I'm going to keep my gun safe as high as possible in the house and leave all my good/valuable guns in there, packed in cosmoline. Then I'll Take A Hi-Point 9mm carbine and pistol, so that when the National Guard hold me at M-16point and take my guns, they just get $300 of cheap garbage. I come back after the caos settles down and sneak my guns out back to a decent place to live.
