You're way too optimistic. Justices -- especially conservative justices -- are loath to overturn longstanding rules (remember that the NFA has been around since 1934). And the ones concerned about the institutional integrity of the Court (particularly Chief Justice Roberts) aren't going to get too far ahead of public opinion, lest Congress increase the number of justices and overthrow the whole system. IMO, invalidation of the NFA would spark exactly that.They're one justice away from being ruled unconstitutional.
No, the NFA as a whole will stand. That's not to say that particular aspects of it (such as the Hughes Amendment moratorium and the way it was enacted) could not be challenged.
