Hello,my name is jeff.I'm single,34,& live in west Michigan.
As I grew up in a household without them I have no idea what sparked my interest in personally owned firearms.I am a sometimes hunter & sometimes shooter. My primary interest in firearms is a combination of their historical importance(how they have changed society and advanced technologically) & an appreciation of fine craftsmanship.About age 22 I purchased my 1st gun.A 41mag Ruger. It's been downhill ever since.
Around 1995,for personal reasons,I put this hobby on the back burner.
I just became internet aware last year & have deceided to fire this hobby back up!
Wow!The changes 10years make!example.Norinco SKS's,1911's,ammo ,& M1A's were to be found easily & cheaply.7.62X54R surplus/corrosive was $9.99/20.Norma was the only option @$29/bx.Yikes!The Clinton gun ban had recently been enacted. There was an almost carnival atmosphere @ the local gunstores.People were buying handguns left & right! One local shop I frequent had had a Colt AR15 gathering dust for a couple of years.Zero interest.Enter AWB & presto! He couldn't keep 'em on the shelf & before long was getting skalpers prices for them.(capitalism )Crazy!
Anyways I have a small but growing collection of Ruger single actions and S & W N frames.Of the rifles I've purchased this year most notable are the model 70 in .30-06,the cz550 .458WM,& the .416Rigby #1.(BOOOM!)I can hardly wait to add more!
Anyways, thanks for putting all these crazy ideas into my head AND making me think on occasion.

Why did I wait so long to say hello?Well,I look at this internet forum thing like a pair of shoes. You can look at shoes from afar. You can ask others opinions about them.BUT,the only way to see if they fit is to try them on & walk around in them for awhile.
Thanks again.
