I have an Iver Johnson top break 38 S&W ser no C 99442 coil spring pat pending nov. 17, 1908. I am wondering when it was made and is smokeless and any other info available. It is in incredibly good shape with no pitting what so ever.

Post a picture for better advice. Iver Johnson revolvers in that patent range could be either black powder only or rated for smokeless powder loads.
