I am inquiring about the serial numbers on these weapons. I am a law enforcement officer in Idaho and found one of these during a burglary investigation recently.
It has no traditional "serial number". I am aware that they were not required by law until 1968.
My question is this for the people knowing the Iver Johnson weapons;
Prior to what year did they not issue "numbers", but instead used letters for the identifier? This is a curiosity question, nothing more.
This weapon is surely a "hot item", and I would like to see it returned to the rightful owner, however, as it is, it will be held until the sun explodes.
Any responses can be forwarded to [email protected].
Thanks in advance
