Iver Johnson Revolver

I am trying to find out what model and about what year of manufacturing this Iver Johnson Revolver.
The serial number is H 391xx
Any help is greatly appreciated. I believe it to be a .38 caliber. Thanks in advance.

Well it's a 3rd model "safety automatic" but without access to my library I can't help date it. IJ started making these in 1909.

Looks like an Iver Johnson *Safety Automatic*. 2nd or 3rd Model.

Does it have the blocking bar in front of the hammer?

.38 S&W so stick with milder loadings.

Then, likely the pistol noted though, I'm not certain; 2nd or 3rd model.
The difference in the hammerless pistol between the models is whether or not it has a Glock-style trigger safety. Hammerless 2nd does, hammerless 3rd does not. Not sure if that applies to hammer versions.

Oh, and sorry Glock-jocks to dispel and notion that that goofy little lever was their idea.

Have fun with it but go easy on the loadings.
