I have a model 101.7 that was given to me as my 14th birthday "big" present. Anyways, where is the serial number located? I've been all over this gun and cannot find one.

It could very well not have one , prior to 1968 manufactures were nor require to serial number long arms.

I have a JC Higgins from pre-68 ----nope, no serial. Doesn't need one. Just note the model number and the fact that it is pre-68 and non-serialized in records or forms.
