Well, after 14+ months (don't ask) of screwing around, I finally got to meet & shoot my new gal-pal. Gotta say it, it's one hell of a fun little pistol. Very lightly used, in great shape, 10 round magazine, original JC Higgins leather holster, no ftf's or jams after 50 rounds and it's so ugly that it's cute. And half way accurate to boot. One of my better sub $150 firearms in the collection. And thankfully the wife loves it too....which is always a good thing around Casa Mariachi....:D

Wow....another Sears/Unique owner! Cool!
I have a 1957 six-inch barrel version, which was sold by Sears as the 'JC Higgins CORSAIR MODEL D6'. A great shooter.
Looks about the same as yours, but with a 6" barrel and a long extended 'target tang' at the rear.

There is one thing to be aware of on Uniques however; keep the extractor clean and free moving.
It's a short/stiff design that can slam-fire if it gets really dirty and locks itself. Mine hasn't, but some have.

Thanx, Gentlemen, glad to see there's a lot of folks here who appreciate the old & the oddball stuff. Any chance you've got some pics of yours? (Mr. Pockets?) Would love to see 'em....

Not the best photos I've ever taken, but here is my 'J.C. Higgins Corsair' - 'Armes Unique D6'.
It has a 6" barrel and a rather extended tang.

NOTE: I also own another old Sears handgun...a 1957 J.C. Higgins Model 88 revolver. That is the 6" barreled Sears version of the ubiquitous .22LR 9-shot High Standard Sentinel. Can't find a photo of it right now though.

Yes, Sears did have & sell some nice stuff. Someone over in the Shotgun forum (JC Higgins 12 gauge bolt action) said that no one collects Higgins guns----well I guess I'm the odd one out, 'cuz I now have at least seven or eight of them. Three .22 semi rifles, a .22 bolty, the four 12 gauges, this Unique #80 and a model #80 .22 pistol (High Standard).

Whoops, I guess that makes ten. Oh well.....:D

(oh yeah, and I forgot my JC #45 (Marlin) 30-30. Crap, methinks I may have issues..... )
