The stock nose piece on all of my Pedersoli kits was brass and I polished them to a bright luster. Yours appears to be matte or stained dark. Is that just the photo or did you want to make it match the barrel? It looks very nice either way.I have really enjoyed all my Pedersoli kits.

That's a good looking rifle and I don't think being a convertible is super-incorrect. Many flint guns were converted, I suppose some might snipe about a reverse-conversion, but we don't need them around anyhow. !!! Jeagers RULE! Enjoy!

Nice looking gun. The Jager I built many years ago [ late 1970s ? ] was a 62 flint. Bought the barrel down at Friendship from Henry Hoppe who owned H&H barrel works. He by mistake had three of them only 20.5" long. They were suppose to be 25" long. His were the round grove rifling barrels. Anyways he had them for sale for $50 and the breech plug was already installed. Hell, I had to pay $150 for a correct lock and back then that was big money for me. Stocked it up in Cherry with a sliding wood patchbox and a brass trigger guard and butt plate like yours. How long is your barrel and what is the cal ? All the inletting looks nice and tight. Good job.

Thanks on the inletting, but Keith Lisle/Birdog 6 of Alabama made me that rifle, I did the final finishing which was not much. It's a Coalrain barrel, 32 or 33", .62 caliber it's supposed to be but I think it's closer to .61", hard to measure with the round bottom rifling but at one time I decided it was .614", but I may have measured wrong. Whatever it is I shoot a .600" ball.

Looks great!
One of the only guns I regret selling. I had both locks as well but never even used the percussion lock. I only sold it to help pay for my TOTW Jaeger kit. Probably should have kept the Pedersoli!

Yeah that Pedersoli looks like a really nice rifle. I have a Pedersoli Brown Bess "Ranger Carbine" that is really excellent. Check out that wood.
