Hi,

I was wondering for water fowling, would the standard friction ring setup be ok with your regular 3'' magnum waterfowl loads from Remington, Winchester, and Federal? I'm shooting BB shot.

Is there any way to further improve reliability of the Auto 5 besides the friction rings? Does it prefer to be well-lubed, or just a thin oil coating?

With 3" magnum steel, you use the standard friction ring setup, same as 2.75" lead. The magnum setting is only for 3" lead. Just a light film of oil on the tube is all you need, too much lube will make the gun kick harder and wear faster.
