I just signed my Father and I up yesterday. We already attended a Garand Clinic last month. It was put on by ORPA, at Camp Perry.

It was quite an experience, shooting where some of the worlds best shooters have shot.

I can't wait!! :D

Are you talking about the National JCG match during the National Championships? If so, not a chance! I remember shooting the NTIT on Saturday (as I plan to do for CO State again this year if I am still in the country). The JCG started before NTIT did, and didn't finish until 8 that night. Obviously many were done halfway through the day, but since the Nats are 2 solid weeks of 13 hour days for me, I like to take that Sat off.

A few others I know shoot it and really like it.
But as Steve has said for us anyway our mourning is taken up by the NTIT match.
For some reason but I will have to go back and look I think they have moved the garand match over to Viale range and that means the NTIT should be at Rodriquez range this year. That should make the garand matches run alot better.
For the shooters entered in the NTIT they will squad you in a afternoon relay if you also wish to into the garand match.

We always have a nice lunch dinner in port clinton after the NTIT that mourning as it usually marks the break in the matches as some folks head home and the others either take the nra 4 man match off on sunday or just keep shooting.

I have already pais and signed up for the presidents 100 and the leg and will do the nra week next week

Jon, if that is true imagine this scenario:

JCG is shot at 200 yards only.

The Viale 200 yard line is 400 yards forward of the Rodriguez 200 yard line, and 800 yards forward of the Rodriguez 600.

Imagine the "never done this before-let's do it" Garand NTIT teams that BURN through their 600 and 500 yard portions practically riding the recoil.

I would NOT want to be in the JCG match 800 yards downrange of wild NTIT shooters. Yikes!

Steve not only is it true but thats the new set up this year as is on the cmp web page for camp perry.

It will be nice for the NTIT guys as "NO" garand matches will be held on rodriguez at all. their reported purpose for the change was the overwelming turnout for the garand matches and the wishes of the CMP to be able to run less relays so shooters are not still shooting the garand match in the early evening and with half again more firing points that should help.

As you stated your concern I already have reasons for doubt about the same thing, as in the past we could not shoot at a yard line on rodriquez that was furture back than Viale. But come to think of it they did allow viale to move back last year early so maybe its not a problem.
It might give a whole new meaning to rattle battle, LOL
